The New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-Operative unveiled the festival schedule at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre on Thursday, and announced that Fredericton-shot AMERICAN SUNSET will kick things off on opening day, November 5th. The 2009 Silver Wave Film Festival will screen a mix of feature films, documentaries and shorts.
AMERICAN SUNSET will hold its red carpet, world premiere, with a private “after party”, on November 9th at 7:30 PM, where Corey Haim will be available to meet and greet his fans. Corey will also be present at a press conference at the AFM on November 6th, at 1:30 PM.
Hartland native Angela Cullins, who plays Haim’s kidnapped wife in the film, said the debut will be a special moment. “To have an “A-list” actor like Corey Haim in the cast is exciting. I’m really happy that my first feature was filmed here in NB. I’ve been plugging away at this industry for years and years, so it will be nice to have many of my friends and family in the audience for the film’s premiere. People are waiting to see this movie and it was hard not being able to tell them it was going to be opening the festival. I really consider this my big break.”
The ninth edition of the Silver Wave Film Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick will run from November 5th through the 8th, and will feature 111 films; 64 of which were produced in New Brunswick, Canada. The full schedule is available at swfilmfest.com/index-e.html.
