Global
Universal Entertainment, (GUE), a Los Angeles based film production
company, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Universal, focuses
its efforts on U.S. film production of feature length films utilizing
pre-certified tax credits and/or other film production incentives
from States such as Louisiana and Michigan. Louisiana offers a
tax credit of up to 30% of the film’s production cost, plus
an additional 5% on Louisiana labor and 5% for film made in New
Orleans, while Michigan offers a tax rebate of up to 42% of each
film’s final cost. Daniel
Sherkow, Chief Operating Officer of Global Universal Entertainment,
has spent over two dozen years as a network and studio executive,
and producer of both "studio" and independent pictures,
as well as made-for-tv movies for all three major networks.
Mr. Sherkow has also produced several Broadway plays for Paramount
Pictures. He has a firm grasp on both the creative and financial
sides of motion picture and television production.
Both Global Universal
Entertainment and Global Universal Pictures have the added advantage
of owning the scripts for dozens of their upcoming productions.
Such proprietary ownership significantly reduces film development
costs reducing the time necessary to move from development to
production.
Through it's experienced
management and professionals “behind the camera”,
Global Universal has already undertaken feature several productions,
and current plans call for the expansion of this proven formula
in producing quality feature films with recognizable, name talent
at substantially less risk.
